For a major humanitarian program in Sudan, we are urgently looking for a
Program Manager (m/f)
Your functions:
You will support our team in Sudan through the strategic and administrative leadership of a large humanitarian program in North Darfur. This includes the oversight of and operational leadership for the North Darfur office, the representation of PartnerAid to government, humanitarian, and donor partners, as well as the management of a large national and international staff team. In the role of security focal point, you will keep yourself informed about the current security situation and seek to manage risks as they affect PartnerAid’s programs and staff. You will maintain close communication with the International Office in Germany. You will continuously monitor and evaluate the status and success of the program, help develop new program proposals, and track the budgets of ongoing projects.
You will have the following qualifications/competencies
- Interest in and commitment to holistic development work
- Agreement with PartnerAid’s Christian values and organizational identity
- At least 2 yrs. of experience in management, with work experience in development and humanitarian relief.
- Knowledge of / willingness to learn about the culture, language, and people of the country of assignment
- Very good knowledge of written and spoken English; willingness to learn Arabic; valid driver’s license
- Consultative and serving leadership style, very good knowledge of MS Office
- High adaptability, team spirit, and intercultural competence
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fluid environment
These competences are desirable
- several years of work experience in development cooperation and relief (possibly work exp. in Sudan), Knowledge in Arabic
Time period, work place information and basic conditions
- 1 year with possibility of extension
- Living conditions: rural, with regular field trips in remote areas
- This is an unaccompanied post (i.e. without dependent family members).
